Changes to Autohub Container Services from Japan
Recently, Maersk have advised us of further service reductions for containered vehicles from Japan.
While their services provided have reduced, they have not reduced their freight rates to us, meaning we will incur extra costs for services provided by other agencies, of substantial nature. We also face additional MPI charges in relation to container clearances.
Subsequently, with additional costs and processing complexities Autohub now faces, we now find container services offer no price advantage against RORO options, and they have a longer transit time.
We are now having to change over all our container shipped vehicles from Japan to RORO service forthwith. This is effective from any vehicles departing after the 19/04/18.
There will unfortunately be a price increase, however, these will not be as high as they would have been had we continued to use container services.
Please contact us via Customer Services to confirm your new pricing and when this will take effect as this will be dictated by shipping schedules and stock you have coming.
We will remain in contact with Maersk and should their position and service offerings change for the better, we will consider returning to container services where viable.
