Greetings,

RE: Used Electric Vehicle (EV) Shipping Possible from Japan

Autohub is pleased to announce due to further updates from our other shipping providers, we are once again able to accept used EVs for shipping from Japan to New Zealand.

EVs need to meet the following criteria to be shipped:

A full On Board Diagnostic check will need to be conducted to confirm that:

  1. All battery cells are within the range of 3.1-4.2V with a maximum variance of 100mV between individual cells
  2. State of Charge (SOC) is between minimum 10% and maximum 30%
  3. There is no physical damage on the vehicle, including no Impact Damage to any side to the vehicle. Damage Free on the area containing the High Voltage battery.  No damage to Power Supply system, electrical wiring and main battery system. Battery cables for 12V battery to be damage free

A vehicle is damaged if it has sustained underneath, side(s), front or rear damage greater than cosmetic damage (e.g., minor scratches and/or rusting, chipped paint, small dents not near the battery compartment, damage to power supply system, electrical wirings & main battery including suspected damage to main battery.

Vehicles will be checked prior to loading, and any which are not compliant will not be accepted onto vessels.

Due to the very specific vessel stowage requirements and safety measures required during the voyage, there will be an additional $275.00 on the standard D2D freight package for BEV vehicles.

Note that these vessels may not call all NZ ports. In instances where the vessel is not calling any port other than Auckland, additional local road transport charges will also apply.

If you need any further information, please contact customerservices@autohub.co.nz.
