Re: Continuing Shipping Service Delays
Many of you will be affected by the continuing shipping delays. For this we apologise, but please note, this is entirely out of our control.
Most vessel cycles see ships calling into Australian Ports before coming to NZ, then returning to Japan (with possible stops in Fiji if required).
Currently, there are delays in all Australian Ports due to new vehicles being discharged there some time earlier that have been found to have Bio contamination.
DAFF (Australia MPI) have isolated all contaminated vehicle stock and have prevented any further vessels berthing and discharging until the contaminated vehicles onshore have been cleaned, reinspected, and passed.
As a result, there are numerous vessels queued near Ports awaiting berthing permission and to discharge.
Consequentially, other vessel sailings have also been affected by this with backlogs of vehicles building in Japan.
