Re: Clean Car Standard (CCS) CO2 Account Numbers.

 

The Clean Car Standard has now gone live with Phase 1.

 

From today, ALL vehicles presented for compliance, have to be linked to a CO2 account.

 

Phase 2

From January 1st, all vehicles presented for compliance, presented for rechecks, anything not “MR2A’d” will need to be linked to a CO2 account and will be subject to penalties and credits.

 

To assist with making things easier for our customers, Autohub will offer ALL our customers the 3 options outlined in the below chart for managing CCS obligations:

Option 1:

All vehicles purchased from Heiwa Autos Group (Heiwa, Enhance, Autoportal, Autosoloution) will be automatically accounted for through their own CO2 account. There is nothing you need to do for CCS in this case, and no CCS associated costs will be invoiced to you.

Option 2:

For vehicles you have purchased from other agents or other markets, if you would like Autohub to manage your CCS obligations, please let us know in writing and we will note this on your account accordingly. CCS credits will accumulate on your Autohub account and penalties will be charged on your freight invoice. These will need to be paid at time of arrival, and Autohub will hold these payments in escrow to settle on your behalf with NZTA once the billing system goes live in June 2023. There will be a $2.50 plus GST Admin fee payable per vehicle for this service which will also be displayed on your shipping invoice.

This is a safe way to manage your penalties vehicle by vehicle rather than you receiving one large bill to pay in June!

 

Credit balances will be visible on your My Autohub account and will be used in the first instance to offset any future penalties.

Option 3:

If you choose to manage your non-Heiwa Group vehicles via your own CO2 account, we will need you to supply your own CO2 account details ASAP for our records as NZTA has asked Autohub to have vehicles bulk loaded against CO2 accounts via an API. You can do this by emailing your CO2 account number through or adding the number to your My Autohub account.

If you have not completed the registration for your own CO2 account, we do suggest arranging one. This can be completed on the NZTA website.
