As you may be aware, Typhoon JEBI has hit Japan and has been classed as the worst seen in 25 years…
We have been advised that our Japanese staff and families are all safe which is great news.
The main locations that appear to be affected the worst for our service are the ports of Kobe and Osaka.
At this stage, we have received initial reports that there is significant damage to port facility infrastructure and vehicles within these port areas. Pre-Export inspection services have been significantly interrupted and we are waiting to receive more detailed reports on the extent of damage and how long they may take to return to ‘normal’ service.
We will be investigating the extent of damage to vehicles and compiling a list which will assist in our discussions with both you, the consignees and our insurance underwriters.
Given the initial damage reports, we anticipate significant disruption to our shipping services at this time for the month of September.
