We have received notice from Ports of Auckland that construction is now underway on their new multi-storey car handling facility on the Auckland Port.
Consequently, due to this construction, the space left on Port to accommodate arriving vehicles has been significantly reduced.
To help ease possible congestion, Ports of Auckland have arranged the use an inland vehicle storage facility in Highbrooke – this is essentially an offsite “extension” of the Port.
Vehicles will, when required, be moved off Port to this facility to keep the Port area free to receive arriving vehicles.
The cost of this relocation service will be borne by Ports of Auckland.
Access to move vehicles out of this inland yard is restricted to certain times in order not to over congest with transporters.
Please be aware that any vehicles not able to be released due to late payment will now likely take longer to be delivered as a consequence. Transporters that would have been available to deliver cars will now be occupied shifting cars off wharf to this inland facility.
We strongly urge you to ensure all due payments are made on or before vessel ETA to ensure vehicles you have arriving can be classified as “released” in order to minimise the double handling and can be delivered straight from the wharf to your nominated delivery address.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
